I got these sheet masks as samples from an Asian store when I bought some beauty products. I were really excited to try these masks out since it was the same brand of snail cream I liked. Apparently their sheet masks are made with Tencel fiber, which increases absorption of ingredients into the skin. The hyaluronic acid in this mask hydrate the skin for increased elasticity and hydration. Overall a great mask to use when your skin needs an extra pick me upper. I couldn’t really tell the difference from all the different sheet masks but my face did feel great the next day. I guess the only thing I’m not a big fan of is the high hazard ingredient in the mask so I probably wouldn’t buy these sheet masks again just because I’m trying to steer away from as much chemicals as I can. It’s a struggle since most beauty products contain them. *sigh.
Do you have a favorite sheet mask?
One of my friends living in NYC told me that Bite Beauty had a store in Soho where you can customize your lipsticks. I was excited since Bite Beauty is one of my favorite lipsticks because of their safe ingredients and beautiful colors (reviewed here). Once I knew I was visiting NYC, I had to add this store to my itinerary.Wall of lipsticks. I thought they looked like truffles 🙂This is the size of the store. Super small! I went with one of my friend to get our customized lipsticks. The three-steps process getting your customized lipsticks. The first questioned they asked us was if we wanted day or night lipstick colors. I wanted a night (red) lipstick and my friend went with day (nude) lipstick color. The next question they asked was if we wanted a matte look or a shiny look. I went with matte. My customized color specialist. My customized lipstick color in the making. New York, NY 10012 (646) 484-6111 Tips on visiting Bite Beauty Lip Lab:
- Try to make an appointment over the phone since it’s a small store and they can only take a number of people each day.
- If you’re not able to make an appointment because they’re fully booked, go early in the morning before they open. They accept walk-ins. There were a couple of people waiting outside when we got there shortly before they were opening. We added our name to the wait list and walked around Soho. It took about an hour before they gave us a call.
- Try to go with a friend. It’s more fun plus you have someone to give you an opinion on the lip colors. Also, you might just get an extra tube of lipstick. My friend and I liked each other’s color and was talking about it. Our color specialist was nice enough to give us an extra tube of each other’s color since there was extras. Score!
- Make sure to keep the color card they give you if you want them to make the exact same color again next time. Or take a picture of it so you have an archive of the color.
- If you’re not able to go to NYC to get your own customized lipstick, you should still check out their products online. I love their duo lipsticks.
I remember the first time I heard of La Mer Creme de La Mer was through one of my sister. I didn’t know much about it except that it’s really expensive. I wouldn’t consider trying it out since it’s so expensive but my sister was kind enough to give it to me as a gift. I know many people who believe in this product so I was excited to try out this “miracle cream”. As I’m aging, I’m always looking for ways to stop the clock on my skin! I was curious to know why so many people were willing to pay such a high price for a moisturizer and if it really works.
Packaging is really nice (of course!) considering the price for this jar. The jar is made of a heavy glass.Comes with a small spatula.Thick moisturizing cream.Rubs in clear.

So this cream is created through a “3-4 month bio-fermentation”. You’re suppose to “warm the cream with your fingers to release all the active ingredients” before putting it on your face. I would do that but I’m not sure if I saw any additional benefit from this cream besides it moisturizing my face. This cream is suppose to improve lines and wrinkles but my face looks the same after using this cream for a couple of months. Honestly, it just felt like a heavy cream with no miracle ingredient to stop the aging of my skin but great marketing. I know a lot of people who believes in this product and says it works for them. Good for them! I won’t discourage you from buying it but for me, if I’m going to spend this much on a cream, I better see some results! Plus I’m not a big fan of the high hazard ingredients in this cream. Next please.
I found this mask in a random Korean beauty store. I thought the packaging was cute so I bought this mask. Yes — I’m a sucko for pretty packages.
Ingredients (3 moderate hazard ingredients)
Water, Glycerreth-26, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Rose Centifolia Flower Water, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hamamelis Virgiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-yuen Seed Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Betaine, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methylparaben, Fragrance, Adenosine
The cotton mask sheet is a bit thinner than most cotton sheet mask but it was soak full of essence. There’s a light perfume fragrance to the cotton mask. My face was slightly “sticky” after removing the mask and also the next morning when I woke up. Pretty good mask to use if you need a moisture boost for your face.
